Wrangler Pop-Up Retail Store: New and Surprisingly Upscale in Downtown Greensboro

During the month of December 2017, Wrangler (which is part of the VF Corporation, headquartered in Greensboro) will open a retail "pop-up" store in downtown Greensboro at the former Miller Furniture Company building at 314 S. Elm Street. This adds an interesting element to the now-bustling downtown, which has many established and new local shops and service providers...but where no national brand yet has a storefront. We'll bet it provides a nice complement to Greensboro's finest and will provide that much more impetus for folks to go shop and dine downtown over the winter holidays.

Get your jeans on!

The Wrangler pop-up shop will carry a variety of the company's different lines, including more "upscale" items. Didn't know Wrangler went uptown? Check out the company's 70th Anniversary Collection of trendy retro favorites; and its signed, numbered 27406 denim line, which is named after the Greensboro zip code where the selvage and raw denim used to make it is cut and sewn.

According to a Triad Business Journal article about the popup store, VP of Marketing Communications for VF Jeanswear Craig Errington said, "It will have things you don't normally see around Greensboro. They will be at a higher price point. You might see them at Macy's stores or Urban Outfitters."

As to whether this store is a passing fancy for Wrangler, or if it will remain downtown after this December's proof of concept? It remains to be seen. VF Corporation clearly wants to contribute to commerce and culture in town, and the Downtown Greensboro, Inc., folks are excited about the possibility of showing major brands that downtown Greensboro is a viable retail location. Why not go downtown to do some holiday shopping at Wrangler and other local shops like Just Be, Scuppernong Books, Elements Gallery, Design Archives, or many others?  You'll find unique and special gifts for everyone on your list...and probably a few goodies for yourself!
