A Better Mousetrap

"Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door."  

That phrase is attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson . . . but that's not really what he said.  The actual quote is:

"If a man has good corn or wood, or boards, or pigs, to sell, or can make better chairs or knives, crucibles or church organs, than anybody else, you will find a broad hard-beaten road to his house, though it be in the woods."

No offence to Mr. Emerson, but I think I like the briefer, paraphrased version:  it makes the point more efficiently!

I am proud to say we have a better mousetrap at GreatNest, a better way to buy and sell real estate, and it is working so well that our business is exploding!

We examined the real estate business and how professionals help buyers and sellers complete property transactions and decided there had to be a better way.  The cost of the service exceeded its value and a rigid one-size-fits-all system trapped consumers into paying more than they should.

We asked, 'Why?'  Why do real estate services cost so much?

The answer lay in the business model ordinary real estate offices employ.  Ordinary offices grow by adding many agents to their rosters.  Each agent brings his or her own sphere of influence into the company, his or her own client base.  Ordinary offices compete for agents, so to get and keep them, they pay very well; so well that an ordinary agent doing just a dozen transactions a year makes a pretty good living.  By the way, the national average is less than eight transactions a year.

We decided that we could grow our business by focusing on the consumer rather than the agent.  

First, we offered a better deal:  sell your home for a Low Set Fee and Save Thousands.

Then we did away with illogical one-size-fits all pricing.  Our sellers pay only for the services they use, which further increases their savings.

We focused our marketing not on attracting more and more agents, but on establishing our message in the marketplace and on getting our listings sold.

And, we cut nothing from the list of services any good real estate company offered.  We became a full-service real estate company driven to save consumers money!

Our consumer focused real estate company has grown from a startup less than ten years ago to one of the dominant players in the Triad.  Our clients are our most enthusiastic supporters and their referrals make up a large portion of the new business we do each year.  With each passing month, more and more area residents are getting the message that there is a new way to buy and sell real estate, one that gets the job done more efficiently and costs less.
